An innovative Kailis Fish Market Café Fremantle campaign
called ‘Fish into Your Pockets and Chip in for the Kids’ has
raised $10,000 to fund a new nursing scholarship at Princess
Margaret Hospital (PMH).
The promotion is the brainchild of the owners, Victor, Janice and George Kailis, who donated the
$10,000 out of profits from the Cafe.
Mr Victor Kailis said he is delighted that they can help support such an important cause.
“It is vital that we continue to support the Princess
Margaret Hospital Foundation for the future of our children,” he
said.
The Kailis’ Fish Market Fremantle scholarship will
support nurses who wish to undertake an honours degree after
they have finished their undergraduate studies.
The recipient of the scholarship will be able to use the funds to
help them conduct research at PMH.
The Executive Director, Nursing and Patient Support Services at PMH,
said the donation is a brilliant initiative for nurses as it
will help relieve the financial pressure of further study.
“It’s a fantastic incentive for nurses to continue with their
studies. It is also a boost for the hospital’s nursing research
initiatives,”
The public can support the
“Fish into Your Pockets and Chip in for the Kids” promotion by
visiting the Kailis Fish Market Café Fremantle.
